As a native New Englander, Dr. McCollum grew up in Western Massachusetts in the small town of Wilbraham. She received her BS in Animal Science at the University of Massachusetts Amherst and then went on to pursue her DVM at the University of California Davis School of Veterinary Medicine where she graduated with honors in 2018. During her time there she participated and ran the Mercer Veterinary Clinic for the homeless as well as several other Sacramento community shelter projects and became Fear Free Certified.
After graduation, Dr. McCollum joined her family back home and practiced emergency medicine at the Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Hospital in South Deerfield, MA followed by primary care medicine in Brattleboro, VT for several years. She is excited to join the Easthampton Animal Hospital team and to start a new chapter. Her interests include surgery, nutrition and neurology. In her free time, Dr. McCollum enjoys disc golfing, yoga and spending time with her partner and their two dogs and two cats, Huckleberry, Maple, Cheetoh and Boots.
